Small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy. They provide more than half the jobs in this nation. These companies and their owners receive little recognition for their important role in our economy. Help us salute the small businesses that make a big impact in our community.

How does it work?

Readers nominate local small businesses worthy of praise by submitting a photo of the business and a brief essay explaining why this business was nominated. After the nomination period, all nominees will appear in an online gallery and readers may vote once per day to pick their favorite small business. Find out more about the dates and prizes by checking out the official rules.
