Students K-12 and college level are asked to submit videos on the 2016 CVCC Black History Celebration theme "What Difference Does Difference Make." The videos will be up to 3 minutes long and can be submitted by a student, class or school. Family, friends and the community will be able to vote for the best videos online and by printed ballot. The top twelve videos will be juried by community leaders and the top four will be shown at the event. Participants' schools in attendance at the CVCC Black History Celebration on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in support of the video selected from their school will be allowed to submit votes at the event as bonus votes.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a Go Pro camera package and a trophy. The winning student's school will receive a plaque recognizing the student. If the video submitted by a class or the school itself wins, the GoPro will go to that school's media center. Second, Third and Fourth place winners will receive trophies. The top twelve will receive medals. All participants will receive certificates.
